In the small town of Leedey, Oklahoma, a tragedy unfolded on the morning of September 13, 2021, forever altering the lives of a local family and shocking the close-knit community. Stacy Leann Boyd, a 31-year-old White female, was found shot to death, her life abruptly and violently cut short. Boyd, known for her vibrant personality and deep roots in the community, was discovered alongside her sister-in-law, 44-year-old Angel Boyd.
The grim discovery was made at the Leedey Ambulance Barn,
where Angel Boyd served as an EMT. Angel's husband, Mitchell Boyd, had grown concerned when he was unable to reach either his wife or Stacy. His search led him to the ambulance barn, where he was met with a horrific scene. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was quickly called in to handle the double homicide investigation.
The investigation swiftly pointed to a primary suspect. Tye Sechrist, Stacy Boyd's live-in boyfriend, was taken into custody later that same morning. In a surprising turn of events, it was reported that Sechrist himself had contacted the authorities, leading to his arrest at the home he shared with Stacy. He was subsequently booked into the Dewey County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder.
Stacy Leann Boyd, born on April 2, 1990, in Elk City, Oklahoma, was a 2008 graduate of Leedey High School. She had pursued careers in cosmetology and insurance and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Leedey. Her death, and that of her sister-in-law, left a profound void in the community, with friends and family left to mourn the sudden and senseless loss of two cherished lives.
