In the late hours of a Friday in Bixby, Oklahoma, a local spa operator's life was tragically cut short in a violent confrontation. Jin Yu Wang, a woman known for her vibrant and funny personality, was leaving a business at 131st and Memorial with an acquaintance on August 5, 2022, when her evening took a horrific turn. An ex-romantic partner, Rocchio Vincenzo, used his vehicle to block her car, preventing her from leaving the parking lot.
The situation escalated quickly as an argument
erupted between Wang and Vincenzo in the parking lot. The verbal dispute turned deadly when Vincenzo produced a pistol. Security cameras from a nearby business captured the harrowing moments as Vincenzo shot and killed Wang before turning the gun on himself. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Bixby police investigated the incident with the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. The case was classified as a murder-suicide, and as Vincenzo died at the scene, no arrests were made. The tragic event was one of only two homicides in Bixby that year, both of which were determined to be murder-suicides. A friend of Wang’s remembered her as a 'neat person' and 'hysterical,' lamenting the senseless loss of her life.
