In the late summer of 1982, the life of 34-year-old Barbara Nelson, a white female, was tragically cut short. On the evening of August 5th, Nelson was working at the Mini Stop-N-Shop in Albion, Wisconsin, when she was abducted. Her disappearance prompted a frantic search that ended in heartbreak five days later. On August 10th, her body was discovered in a cornfield on Bray Road, about three miles east of Elkhorn. An autopsy would later reveal that she had been shot twice and severely beaten.
