Her death, which occurred on August 19th, was not discovered until three days later, on August 22nd, when a concerned relative made a grim discovery. It was Carol's aunt who found her and her husband, Roger, in their living room.
The scene that unfolded pointed to a violent and final confrontation. Evidence suggested a struggle had taken place, and Carol's face was bruised. The investigation determined that she had been fatally shot by her 56-year-old husband.
