Age 26, male, Jesse Behm was killed in Antigo, Langlade County, on July 8, 2000. He had been staying at the home of Roxanne Schafer, the woman he was dating, when William Statezny—an ex-suitor who lived across the street and wanted to rekindle a brief relationship with Schafer—entered the house in the middle of the night and woke them. Schafer fled to the bathroom; moments later, shots rang out that fatally wounded Behm.
