Bryson Brown, aged 34, tragically lost his life on June 17, 2014, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred at a US Gas Station near Green Bay Avenue and Cornell Street. Upon arrival, police found Brown lying near a gas pump with multiple gunshot wounds to his right chest, left side, back, and neck. The Milwaukee Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

The investigation quickly identified Demario Easley, a 25-year-old man, as the primary suspect. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing Easley with a handgun and positively identified him in a photo array as the shooter. According to the criminal complaint, Easley was attempting to sell 'lean' at the gas station when Brown approached the vehicle Easley and his associates were in. During the interaction, Easley was handed a handgun and began shooting at Brown, who was struck multiple times before Easley fled the scene.
Easley was arrested on June 23, 2014, in Florida, after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Initially, he faced charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and bail jumping. However, the charges were later amended to include first-degree reckless homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and bail jumping. Easley was extradited from Miami to Milwaukee to face these charges.
In July 2015, a jury found Easley guilty on three felony charges related to the shooting death of Bryson Brown: first-degree reckless homicide, felon in possession of a firearm, and bail jumping. He was sentenced to 43 years in prison, followed by 20 years of extended supervision. Easley was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of over $1,900. The case against Easley was supported by witness testimonies and surveillance video from the gas station, which corroborated the accounts of the witnesses.
