In the early hours of a cold winter morning in Milwaukee, 28-year-old Kashin Strickland’s life was cut short by gunfire. On December 22, 2015, just after 2:30 a.m., Strickland was shot near the intersection of 95th and Sheridan. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear to authorities. Responders rushed Strickland to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe. He succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m. that same morning.
