In the quiet, early hours of New Year's Day 2016, a tragedy unfolded in a home on Whittaker Avenue in Cudahy, Wisconsin, forever altering the lives of a young family. Two-year-old Skylar Monroe Hart, a White / Caucasian female, was found by police suffering from a gunshot wound. The emergency call came in around 1:30 a.m., and upon arrival, officers discovered both Skylar and her father, Brett Hartman, with severe injuries.
