On a tragic spring day in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, the life of a young White/Caucasian boy, 3-year-old Devon James Bohn, was cut short. On April 27, 2016, Devon, along with his 5-year-old sister Paige Elise Bohn, was found deceased in their home. The devastating discovery was made after a family member alerted the authorities, leading to a police investigation into the heartbreaking event.
Authorities determined that Devon and his sister died from single gunshot wounds.
The investigation concluded that the children were victims of a murder-suicide perpetrated by their father, 36-year-old Justin Bohn. After fatally shooting his two children, Justin Bohn then turned the gun on himself. The children's mother was not at home at the time of the incident. Given the circumstances, no other suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in connection with the deaths.
Devon was remembered as a little boy with a captivating look who had a great love for tractors and any machine that moved and made noise. His aspiration was to grow big enough to one day drive a tractor and mow the lawn. The community mourned the loss of the two innocent children, and a scholarship fund was established in their memory.
