On a summer evening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 32-year-old Marquelle L. Miller, a Black male, was sitting on a porch with another man in the 3600 block of N. 3rd St. on July 2, 2016. It was around 6 p.m. when the peaceful scene was shattered by a violent encounter that would end Miller's life. He was a father and was remembered for his love of cars, music, movies, and sports.
