In the winter of 2021, a burst of gunfire on a Wednesday afternoon in Milwaukee shattered the lives of a family and left a community searching for answers. Kendric McMillian, a 20-year-old Black / African American man, was fatally shot on February 3, 2021. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. inside a vehicle located near the intersection of 99th Street and Appleton Avenue.
