Leopoldo Vela, a 57-year-old male, was fatally shot on the morning of October 31, 2016, in an apparent robbery at his place of business in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. at Corona Jewelry, a precious metals and gems dealer located at 1401 S. 7th Street on the city's south side. Vela, the owner of the store, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest during the altercation. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
