On a summer evening in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the life of a young Black/African American man, Marquis King, was tragically cut short. The 20-year-old was in the 1800 block of West Nash Street around 8:25 p.m. on July 3, 2017, when an unknown individual approached him and opened fire. King sustained multiple gunshot wounds and, despite the efforts of first responders, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
