Described by his family as an outgoing child who loved watching "Paw Patrol" and brought happiness to everyone around him, Cire's life was cut short in a devastating incident that highlighted the critical importance of firearm safety.
On that fateful day, Cire discovered a firearm that had been carelessly left
unattended on a kitchen table by a family member. Unaware of the danger, the young boy unintentionally discharged the weapon, inflicting fatal injuries upon himself. The heartbreaking event sent shockwaves through the community and left his family engulfed in profound grief. In the midst of their sorrow, Cire's family urged others to be more responsible with firearms, especially in households with children, to prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
The aftermath of the incident led to the arrest of 26-year-old Devon L. Armour. Armour was subsequently charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree reckless homicide, possession of a firearm by a felon, and two counts of bail jumping. A habitual criminal with a history of armed robbery, Armour had been released from jail on a signature bond just two weeks prior to the tragic event. The criminal complaint revealed that Armour, who as a convicted felon was prohibited from possessing firearms, had purchased the gun only a few days before Cire's death. If convicted on all counts, Armour could face a prison sentence of up to 65 years.
