Mohamed, a 20-year-old Black / African American female, was killed on July 19, 2022, in a violent act that unfolded within a residence on the 2700 block of North 39th Street. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 26-year-old Ibrahim M.
Hussein, has been characterized by authorities as a domestic violence-related murder-suicide.
Milwaukee police were called to the home for a welfare check at approximately 10:30 p.m. on that Tuesday evening. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered the bodies of Mohamed and Hussein. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Mohamed was a homicide victim, and Hussein's death was ruled a suicide.
The investigation into the tragic event was handled by the Milwaukee Police Department's Homicide Unit. While the circumstances were described as being related to domestic violence, specific details about the nature of Mohamed and Hussein's relationship were not publicly disclosed by law enforcement officials.
