On a summer day in June of 1996, the quiet community near Mount Spokane was disturbed by a grim discovery. The partially-clad and badly decomposed body of Shannon Rene Zielinski, a 38-year-old White female, was found in a wooded area near the intersection of Holcomb Road and Mount Spokane Park Drive on June 14. She had been shot to death, and evidence suggested she was killed elsewhere and her body dumped at the location where it was found, possibly up to three weeks prior. Investigators noted t ...
