In the winter of 2016, the life of Brenda Palacios-Thur, a 43-year-old Caucasian female, was cut short in her Spokane, Washington home. On January 18th, she suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The initial account of her death came from her husband, Dwayne K. Thurman, a military veteran and former reserve deputy.
