Lana J. Carlson, a 49-year-old Caucasian female, died on February 26, 2016, in a tragic event that unfolded in a rural Mason County home near Belfair, Washington. On that Friday morning, authorities were alerted to a horrific scene when Lana's husband, 51-year-old David Wayne Campbell, contacted a sheriff's office supervisor to say he had done something terrible and was suicidal. This call initiated a tense standoff with law enforcement that would last for hours and end in further tragedy.
