In the quiet community of Graham, Washington, a tragic event unfolded on January 20, 2022, ending the life of 75-year-old Nora Gillie Schindler. Friends of Schindler's 68-year-old male roommate grew concerned and a welfare check at their residence in the 24400 block of 94th Avenue East led to a grim discovery.
Inside the home, law enforcement found both Nora Schindler and her roommate deceased.
Investigators with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department quickly determined that the incident was a murder-suicide. The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that Nora Schindler died from gunshot wounds to the head, and her death was ruled a homicide.
According to the investigation, it is believed that Schindler's roommate shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself.
