Deputy Sheriff H. M. Holloway of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department in Kentucky was tragically killed on March 12, 1911, in Stearns, KY. Holloway, along with Deputy Sheriff J. T. Lovett, was ambushed and shot while guarding railroad coal chutes. The attack was believed to be connected to a strike by railroad firemen, although no suspects were ever identified.
