He was a member of The Carpenter's Christian Church and was described as someone who enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. The couple had been married for five decades and had built a life together in Mercer County, where Bruce was born on July 7, 1943.
The investigation into the deaths of the elderly couple concluded that Darrel Noel was responsible for the death of his wife before taking his own life. The coroner's report indicated that it was a case of murder-suicide.
