Chun Xiao Lee, a 48-year-old woman, was murdered on August 28, 2012, in Chicago. Lee was found dead alongside her 64-year-old roommate, Gary Brown, in their apartment in the West Rogers Park neighborhood. Both victims had been stabbed multiple times, and their bodies were found on a bed wrapped in blankets after a fire was reported at the apartment.
The suspect, DeJuan Pratt, was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated arson, and other crimes after allegedly trying to cover up the incident by setting the apartment on fire and using the victims' credit cards. Pratt was later arrested at O’Hare International Airport while attempting to leave the city, and authorities linked him to the crime through witness accounts and evidence found in his possession.
