In the quiet farm country of Washington County, Kentucky, a landowner discovered a running vehicle parked on his property just off Bloomfield Road on the morning of June 14, 2016. Inside, he found 51-year-old Yul A. Rayford, a male resident of nearby Bardstown, slumped over in the driver's seat. Rayford was still alive, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Emergency services were called, and he was airlifted to University Hospital for urgent medical care.
