On a summer day in 2016, what began as a routine trip for a Florence, Kentucky couple ended in a tragedy that would take months to fully uncover. Robert Jones, a 38-year-old White male, and his girlfriend, Crystal Warner, 35, traveled to a remote property they owned in Springfield, Kentucky, on July 3, 2016. The purpose of their visit was to speak with their tenant, Craig Pennington, at the cabin he rented from them on Texas Mackville Road. This encounter would be their last.
