Bennie Sanders, a 71-year-old male, was killed on Friday, January 6, 2017, inside his residence in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. His life was cut short when he sustained a fatal gunshot wound during what authorities described as a home invasion. A former car salesman, Sanders was also known for his athletic past, having played college football as a quarterback and reportedly being drafted by the New York Jets.
