On a Saturday afternoon in the small town of Hickman, Kentucky, the community was shaken by an act of violence that claimed the life of David Mackins. On January 27, 2018, the 42-year-old Black male was fatally shot on Holley Court. The Kentucky State Police were alerted to the shooting in the evening and responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mackins with injuries consistent with a shooting. The Fulton County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
