In the summer of 2018, the life of 30-year-old Casey Joe Embry of Owensboro, Kentucky, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Saturday, July 7, his body was discovered on the side of Griffith Station Road, near Ben Hawes State Park. An investigation by the Daviess County Sheriff's Office determined that Embry had been fatally shot in the back.
