On a cold February evening in Madisonville, Kentucky, the life of 26-year-old Ashley D. Egan was tragically cut short. On February 4, 2019, inside her mobile home on Sugg Street, an argument escalated into gunfire, leaving Egan fatally wounded in her own living room. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 10:30 p.m., also resulted in injuries to her fiancé, Dominick A. Yarbrough.
According to police reports, the violence erupted during a purported drug transaction.
Yarbrough made the distressing 911 call, reporting that his fiancée had been shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Yarbrough outside the residence, who then directed them to Egan, who was unresponsive on the living room floor. Several other individuals who were present in the home at the time of the shooting had fled before law enforcement arrived. Both Egan and Yarbrough were transported to Baptist Health Madisonville, where Egan ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation that followed led to the identification of two suspects. Mar'Keil Foster was charged with murder and first-degree robbery. Authorities alleged that Foster, along with an unidentified third person, entered Egan's home to conduct a drug deal. It was this third individual who reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded money, which led to the fatal shooting. The driver of the vehicle that brought Foster to the residence, Ryan Bruch, remained in the car during the incident. Bruch was later located in Volusia County, Florida, and faced charges of complicity to commit first-degree robbery and facilitation to commit murder.
