On the morning of March 16, 2021, the city of Murray, Kentucky, was rocked by a violent shooting that claimed the life of 46-year-old Katherine Bryan. The Murray Police Department received a call about a shooting at a residence on Chestnut Street, located near the campus of Murray State University, at approximately 7:36 a.m. The proximity to the university prompted a temporary lockdown of the campus as a precautionary measure.
