In the winter chill of December 27, 2021, a verbal dispute outside the Mountain Stop Store in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, escalated into a fatal encounter for Gregory T. Galloway, a 33-year-old male. An argument with another individual resulted in Galloway being shot. Despite his severe injury, he managed to enter the store and ask the clerk to call for emergency assistance before he collapsed.
Emergency services and Kentucky State Police troopers responded to the scene shortly after 6:00 p.m. to find Gregory Galloway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The Lincoln County Coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene. His body was then transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy to officially determine the cause of death.
The investigation into the shooting led to the swift identification and arrest of a suspect. Robin Dunn, 24, of Danville, Kentucky, was taken into custody later that same night. He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center and formally charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
