In the heart of Waynesburg, Kentucky, a community is left to grapple with the unexpected passing of Danny Wayne Wilson. A man of 67 years, his life was brought to an unforeseen end on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Born on March 15, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, he was a son to Shirley Irene Wilson and the late Robert William Wilson. His death, which occurred on his family's property in Lincoln County, has been reported as a hunting accident.
A skilled cabinet maker by trade, Danny's true passions lay in the great outdoors and his faith. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking, often sharing these experiences with his cherished wife and children. His devotion to the Lord was a cornerstone of his life; he was an active member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and Southern Heights Community Church in Danville. He was not only a man of faith but also a talented musician, his melodies no doubt bringing comfort and joy to those around him.
Danny Wayne Wilson leaves behind a loving family to mourn his absence. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judie Wilson, and their two children, a son, Brandon Wilson, and a daughter, Renee Wilson, both of Danville. The legacy of his love extends to his seven grandchildren: Taryn Penman, Ayden Hafley, Kelvin Wayne Wilson, McKenzie Tyner Wilson, Malia Blackwell, Joshua Blackwell, and Noah Blackwell. His memory will also be carried on by his mother, Shirley, and his three sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Anna Ruckel of Waynesburg, and Tina Goode of Lancaster, Kentucky, along with a host of extended family and friends. The community will gather to honor his life with a visitation and funeral service to be held at Journey Community Church. His final resting place will be in the Wilson Cemetery in Rockcastle County, a place that will forever hold the memory of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
