In the quiet community of Magnolia, Kentucky, a verbal dispute on a Monday evening escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 31-year-old William Franklin 'Frankie' Kelleher. The male victim, a resident of Glasgow, Kentucky, was a self-employed carpenter and a devoted father to two young daughters. On November 7, 2022, just before 6 p.m., Kelleher became embroiled in a heated argument with 62-year-old Dennis Wells of Magnolia at a residence on Eve Highway.
The disagreement took a
fatal turn when Wells produced a firearm and shot Kelleher multiple times. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Kelleher was initially transported to Baptist Health Hardin Hospital in Elizabethtown. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was then airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, William Kelleher succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital.
Following the shooting, the Kentucky State Police launched an investigation into the incident. Their preliminary findings led to the arrest of Dennis Wells, who was taken into custody and charged with murder. He was subsequently lodged in the Hart County Jail. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Kentucky State Police, Hart County EMS, and the Hart County Sheriff's Office.
