On a tragic day in May of 2015, law enforcement was called to a residence in Onigum, Minnesota, nestled near the shores of Leech Lake, following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the home on Midway Drive NW on May 12th, they discovered a grim scene. Inside, 60-year-old David Smith of Walker was found deceased, having succumbed to a gunshot wound.
