On a tragic day in November of 2016, the life of 56-year-old Lynn Marie Josephson, a Caucasian female, was cut short in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. On November 2nd, police were called to conduct a welfare check at her home on the 14000 block of Pennock Avenue in Apple Valley, a suburb of Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was there that they discovered the bodies of Lynn and her 49-year-old husband, Alan Lee Josephson.
Both individuals were found with fatal gunshot wounds.
The investigation concluded that Alan Josephson shot his wife multiple times with a. 38 caliber handgun before turning the weapon on himself. A neighbor later reported hearing several loud bangs on the evening of November 2nd, which authorities believe was when the incident occurred. Friends and family described the couple as happy, though it was noted that Alan had been struggling with depression. There had been no significant history of police calls to their residence.
Given the circumstances, the case was closed as a murder-suicide. Alan Lee Josephson was identified as the sole perpetrator, and consequently, no other suspects were sought, and no arrests were made in connection with Lynn Marie Josephson's death.
