Teresa Ann Bear Ribs, aged 61, tragically passed away on August 19, 2020, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Teresa was in her backyard talking on the phone with her husband when he heard her ask someone, 'What are you doing? Why are you here?' The call abruptly ended, and her husband, concerned, contacted their daughter to check on Teresa. Upon arriving at the scene, the daughter found Teresa unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head and immediately called 9-1-1 at 8:45 PM.
Emergency responders pronounced Teresa dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Teresa's daughter believed Maurice June and Christopher Todd were involved in the incident. The day before Teresa's death, her daughter's boyfriend had been killed in a shooting in Minneapolis. It is suspected that Maurice June, aged 32, and Christopher Todd, aged 19, were looking for Teresa's daughter and, not finding her, shot Teresa instead.
Both Maurice June and Christopher Todd were taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. During questioning, they provided conflicting accounts of the crime, each blaming the other for the shooting. The case remains a poignant reminder of the tragic consequences of violence and the impact it has on families and communities.
