Ernest J. Carter, aged 35, was killed in a double shooting on July 14, 2013, in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood. Carter and a woman were sitting in a parked car in the 4000 block of West Cullerton Street when two male gunmen approached from behind and opened fire at around 11 p.m. Both Carter and the woman were hit multiple times.
