McConda Deon Robinson, aged 53, was tragically killed on May 14, 2022, in a double homicide incident in north Minneapolis. The shooting occurred near North Bryant Avenue and West Broadway Avenue just before 4 a.m. Robinson, who was hailed as a hero, was attempting to protect two young men from the gunfire. He pushed one of the men, 21-year-old Kayvon Williams, to the ground in an effort to save him. Unfortunately, both Robinson and Williams succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Robinson died from a gunshot wound to the neck, while Williams suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
The Minneapolis Police Department responded to the incident following a ShotSpotter notification. Upon arrival, officers found both victims already deceased.
