On October 9, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in Motley, Minnesota, resulting in the death of 12-year-old Jeremy Her. Jeremy was on a hunting trip with his family in Moose Lake Township when he was accidentally shot by his 47-year-old uncle. The Cass County Sheriff's Office reported that the family was hunting squirrels on public land when the accident happened. Jeremy was shot behind his left ear, causing severe injuries.
