On June 21, 2014, a house party in Wichita, Kansas, turned deadly for 20-year-old Hispanic/Latino male Juan Orona. The gathering, which took place in the 900 block of South Cypress, swelled with around 100 uninvited guests after being publicized on social media. The large crowd included members of rival gangs, and tensions soon escalated. An argument erupted in the front yard, quickly turning into a physical altercation.
