On March 28, 2020, the tragic deaths of 8-year-old Natayla Sorell and her mother, 24-year-old Mickayla Sorell, occurred in Wichita, Kansas. The incident came to light when Mickayla did not report to work, prompting a concerned friend and coworker to call 911. Wichita police conducted a welfare check at their home in the 4400 block of South Walnut, where they discovered both Mickayla and Natayla shot to death.
