On a summer evening in Washington, D.C., a 26-year-old man named Cheyenne Washington was gunned down, his life abruptly ended as he was heading home. The fatal shooting occurred around 5:02 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in the 4400 block of E Street in the Southeast quadrant of the city. Washington, a culinary artist with aspirations of one day owning his own restaurant, had just finished his workday and was getting off a bus when he was followed and shot multiple times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Remembered as a loving son, father, nephew, and friend, Cheyenne Washington was a man with a big heart, known for his love of life, his laughter, and his generosity toward the less fortunate.
