On June 7, 2021, at approximately 9:20 pm, Carlos Singleton, a 47-year-old resident of Southeast, Washington, DC, was fatally shot in the 6200 block of Banks Place, Northeast. Responding to reports of gunshots, officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene to find Singleton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
