On June 14, 2019, 43-year-old Damon Bell was found unconscious inside a vehicle on the 1600 block of West Virginia Avenue, Northeast, Washington, DC. Responding to reports of gunshots at approximately 1:18 am, members of the Fifth District discovered Bell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Bell was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
