Eric Byrd, a 34-year-old man from Southeast Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed on July 20, 2019. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of U Street NW, a busy area near the U Street Music Hall and the U Street Metro Station.
