In the early hours of a summer Saturday in Washington, D.C., the life of 34-year-old Eric Byrd was tragically cut short. On July 20, 2019, at approximately 2:42 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1100 block of U Street, Northwest, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Byrd, a resident of Southeast D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
