On the evening of Saturday, October 7, 2017, Lyon County Sheriff's deputies responded to a medical call at a residence on Tonopah Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 46-year-old Rebecca Driver. Further investigation led them to a second location where they found the bodies of her parents, Frank Evans, 67, and his 68-year-old wife, Coral Dixene Evans, a White female. It soon became clear that this was not a medical emergency but a brutal triple homicide.
The investigation into the deaths of Coral Evans, her husband, and their daughter quickly focused on one individual: Scott Baskette. Baskette, who was 50 years old at the time, had been in a long-term relationship with Rebecca Driver since 2006. In the early morning hours of October 7th, Baskette went to the home of Frank and Coral Evans. When Frank answered the door, Baskette shot him. He then entered the house and shot Coral. Following the murders of his girlfriend's parents, Baskette took their cell phones and used them to lure Rebecca to the residence. When she arrived, he shot her as well.
