On the morning of August 16, 1976, a grim discovery was made at a home on Palomino Drive in the serene mountain community of Evergreen, Colorado. Richard Gary Malin, a 35-year-old male, was found deceased by his wife at their residence. The scene that greeted her was one of sudden and brutal violence; Richard lay just inside the front door, having been shot.
