On a warm spring Thursday in Denver, Colorado, on March 13, 1980, Patricia Grimberg was tending to the flower bed in her front yard on South Pearl Street. The 34-year-old white female, a native of Holland who had moved to the United States at age 11, was a devoted housewife and mother to three children, ages 13, 11, and two.
