In the spring of 1998, a young man's life was cut tragically short in Denver, Colorado. Santiago Catano, a 21-year-old male, was in the area of 30th and Arapahoe Street on April 17th when he became the victim of a shooting. Known to his friends as 'Chief,' Catano was privately transported to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to the gunshot wounds he sustained.
The Denver Police Department responded to the initial report of the shooting and began an investigation into the
homicide. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold over the years, and no arrests have been made in connection with Santiago Catano's death. The individuals responsible for the fatal shooting have not been publicly identified, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain part of an open and unsolved investigation.
Years later, Catano's case is now handled by the Denver Police Department's Cold Case Unit, which continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough. Investigators hope that with the passage of time, someone with knowledge of the events of that April night will come forward and provide the information needed to bring a sense of justice to his friends and family.
