On June 10, 1998, 31-year-old John Eggers, a white male, was found deceased in his room at the Royal Palace Motel located at 1565 N. Colorado Boulevard in Denver, Colorado. The discovery was made by a motel staff member who had entered the room to perform housekeeping duties. An initial investigation into the circumstances of his death determined that he had died as a result of a gunshot wound.
