In the winter of 2020, just before his 32nd birthday, Luis Nieves was tragically killed while walking home from work in Denver. On the evening of January 9th, the 31-year-old man was crossing a pedestrian bridge over Interstate 25 near Colorado Boulevard and Evans Avenue when he was fatally shot. His family described him as a hardworking and caring individual with a memorable smile, who did not have any known enemies, making his death a profound shock to them.
